Wage Garnishment and Property Exemptions -- New Hampshire
WAGE GARNISHMENT EXEMPTION: 50 times the federal minimum hourly wage (all future wages are exempt)

STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS ON ENFORCEMENT:

Open Account (credit card): 3 years
Written Contract: 3 years
Domestic Judgment: 20 years
Foreign Judgment: 20 years

The State of New Hampshire has exempted the property and income below from seizure by the bankruptcy court to pay creditors:

Personal Property:  Furniture up to $3,500 [511:2(III)]; beds, bedding, and cooking utensils, amount needed [511:2(II)], clothing, amount needed [511:2(1)]; food and fuel up to $400 [511:2(VI)]; stove, heating equipment, refrigerator, unlimited amount [511:2(IV)]; automobile to $4,000 [511:2(XVI)]; jewelry up to $500 [511:2(XVII)]; bibles and books to $800 [511:2(VIII)]; sewing machine, unlimited amount [511:2(V)]; burial place, lot or church pew, unlimited amount [511:2(XIV)]; tools of trade up to $5,000 [511.2(IX)]; uniforms, arms and equipment required for military, unlimited amount [511.2(VII)]; one cow, six sheep and fleece, four tons of hay [512:2(XI) and (XII)]; fowl up to $300 total value [511:2(XIII)]; one already slaughtered pork [511:2(X)]; proceeds for lost or destroyed exempt property up to exemption amount [512:21(VIII)]; yoke of oxen or horse if needed for farming [511:2(XII)]
Insurance / Annuities:  Fraternal society benefits, unlimited amount [402:69]; firefighters insurance, unlimited amount [402:69]; homeowners insurance proceeds up to $5,000 [512:21(VIII)]
Pensions / Retirement Plans:  Police officers; firefighters; public employees; federal pension, unpaid benefits [512:21(IV)]; police officers, unlimited amount [103.18]; firefighters, unlimited amount [102.23]; public employees, unlimited amount [100A.26]
Public Benefits / Entitlements:  Unemployment compensation, unlimited amount [282-A:159]; workers compensation, unlimited amount [281-A:52]; aid to aged, blind, disabled and families with dependent children, unlimited amount [167:25]
Wages:  Earned but unpaid wages (judge will decide the amount that is exempt) [512:21(II)]; earned but unpaid wages of a spouse and wages of a minor child, unlimited amount [512:21(III)]
Miscellaneous:  Child support, unlimited amount [161-C-11]; jury and witness fees, unlimited amount 304-A-25]; business partnership property, unlimited amount [304A-25]
